The mobile home at  Westgat 7 is placed on one of the most beautiful and peaceful spots on the Recreation Park Lauwersoog with front and side views over the Lauwersmeer and a beach right in front. You have a wide view over the water where you can observe many birds. Around the chalet you have the company of rabbits and small birds like wagtails, goldfinches and many other species. Across the lake you can regularly spot Konik horses and Highland cattle.

The five-star Recreation Park Lauwersoog has a tourist information center, marina, canoe and sailboat rental, bike rental, shuttle bus, playground, small supermarket, two restaurants (one with takeaway option), snack bar and laundry.

 

The Recreation Park organizes many activities such as excursions on the flats, boat trips and educational afternoons. But there is also lots of opportunity for hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, (kite) surfing, sailing and canoeing.

 

Lauwersoog lies on the border between salt and fresh water, between the UNESCO World Heritage Waddenzee and National Park Lauwersmeer. Both unique and authentic nature reserves have an interesting and varied flora and fauna. As is clear from the fact that recently the sea-eagle nests in this area. This area is very popular with nature lovers and bird watchers.
